Lincoln Street Coffee is a locally owned gourmet coffeehouse in Newton Highlands, Massachusetts offering a variety of premium roasted coffees. Grown in rich soil under a partially shaded sun, Lincoln Street's coffee is harvested only when fully ripe and at the peak of flavor, roasted daily and freshly brewed with the utmost care. The owner Peter Meyer, had a successful fourteen-year career managing luxury hotels including The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott and The Hotel Commonwealth, before he opened this gourmet neighborhood coffee house in 2005. Peter makes sure that you will encounter a staff that has been thoroughly trained to make your gourmet coffee experience completely enjoyable. Whether visiting for a quick cup of coffee and breakfast on the way to work, a leisurely latte in the middle of the day with your child or a tasty ice cream in the evening, you will always be treated as a welcomed guest. Parents with children are always welcome! While you sip your gourmet coffee or tea, your kids can indulge in a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and marshmallows. The Icing on the Cake is dedicated to only one goal: creating the most beautiful and delicious cakes in town. Each cake is an original that you and your guests will recall with joy for years to come. Their designers work individually with each customer to plan the perfect cake for their event. Their award-winning bakers and decorators then fashion your cake with the traditional care and attention to detail that have become things of the past in many modern bakeries. You'll find no standardized production lines there! They specialize in handmade icing flowers that are as lifelike as those in a wedding bouquet. They invite you to visit their shop in Newton, and see for yourself how special and unique their cakes really are.

Lumiere is a small fifty seat restaurant with a small bar with four stools. Located in a corner store front in Newton, it is modestly decorated in classic style (white trim, oak flooring, burgundy red accents), comfortable, clean, and classic. The food is French and the setting is romantic. Parking is difficult on Washington Street but you can find ample parking in the back of the restaurant where you will find free and metered lots. They have been lauded for their desserts, especially the grape sorbet.

Barbecue joint in West Newton. Business is mostly takeout, but there are a few counter-style seats. In the summer, there are also a couple of small tables outside. In addition to street parking, there is a municipal parking lot across the street. Save a few bucks (and some tough decisions) by ordering a bountiful "feedbag" (assorted meats and sides) for either four or six people. ^[1]
